Aid to Victims of Violence (AVV): is a YWCA Cortland program that provides comprehensive services, including financial support and physical supplies, to local victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other crimes.
GEMS (Girls: Empowered, Motivated, Successful): GEMS is a YWCA Cortland support group that provides a safe place for teen girls, ages 12-18, to build a community made just for them.
Family Reading Partnership: Promotes literacy by supplying books and educational materials to local children. The Zonta Club of Cortland stock a Bright Red Bookshelf at the YWCA of Cortland.

Academic achievement is not a factor in the selection. Nominees must be a high school junior or senior. An award of $500 and a certificate of achievement will be awarded in the spring. The winning application will be submitted to the Zonta District Level and a district winner will be announced at the end of June.
The Ruth Schaub High School Senior Award is $500 for a female high school senior. Candidates for this award are judged on financial need, plans for continuing or higher education, leadership qualities, academic achievement, and community service. Candidates must have been Cortland area residents for a minimum of one year.
These posters are available to help promote these educational awards at your school. Please feel free to download and print/email them to students who may be eligible to apply. And thank you!
